About

Anston Stones Wood is a limestone gorge woodland and Local Nature Reserve, much of it a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its rare plants and limestone grassland. A walkway through the gorge leads to Dead Man's Cave, where ice age flint tools and bones of reindeer and hyena were found. There is also a geological trail to follow.
