About

Beverley Minster, the Parish Church of St John and St Martin, is one of the largest parish churches in the UK and bigger than a third of all English cathedrals. It has been a holy place for around 1,300 years and is linked to St John of Beverley. Originally a collegiate church, it survived the Dissolution as a parish church and is Grade I listed.

Inside, look out for the Saxon frith stool (sanctuary chair), the Norman font, the Percy Canopy, the medieval minstrel carvings and the misericords. Roof tours and guided tours run on set dates for a fee.

Before you go
