About

Blake Dean is a well-known beauty spot and picnic site in the hills above Hebden Bridge, where streams meet to form Hebden Water. You can still see the concrete bases of a huge wooden trestle bridge that carried a tramway to the Walshaw Dean reservoirs until 1912, beside an older stone road bridge. Paths link it to Hardcastle Crags and Widdop, but they can be rocky and rooty underfoot.
