About

Doncaster Minster, the Minster and Parish Church of St George, was designed by George Gilbert Scott and built between 1854 and 1858 after a fire destroyed the medieval church. Pevsner called it the most cathedral-like of all Scott's parish churches. It is Grade I listed, and the grounds include part of a Roman fort wall.

Inside, look out for the Great East Window, the West Window and the memorial to the Queen's Own Yorkshire Dragoons. The minster also has a Schulze organ and a celebrated clock by Dent.
