About
Freeholders Wood is ancient woodland, wooded since at least 1600, right next to the Aysgarth Falls National Park Centre. It is one of the best places in the Dales to see hazel coppice, with bluebells, wood anemone and herb-Paris in spring, and roe deer, red squirrels and plenty of woodland birds. Paths can be rocky or muddy in places.
