About
Gormire is a glacial lake at the foot of Whitestone Cliff, formed after the last Ice Age and surrounded by woodland. It is reached only on foot, usually as a loop from the Sutton Bank National Park Centre, with a steep woodland path down and back up. Look out for the views of it from the cliff top above, and local tales that it is bottomless.
