About

Hob Moor is one of York's historic strays, an open grassland local nature reserve still grazed by cattle. Look out for the Hob Stone, a 14th-century coffin lid carved with a knight, and the Plague Stone where coins were once washed in vinegar. A signposted cycle path crosses the moor, which can get waterlogged after rain.
