About

Judy Woods is a group of woods covering around 56 hectares, one of the largest areas of beech woodland in Yorkshire, and was made a Local Nature Reserve in 2025. Look out for old bell pits from coal and ironstone mining and the stone Judy Brig over the stream. Paths can be steep and muddy in places.
