About
Ribblehead Viaduct carries the Settle-Carlisle Railway 32 metres above the moor on 24 stone arches, and was finished in 1874. You can walk up close on the paths beneath it and watch trains cross against the backdrop of Whernside. It is also the start of a popular walk up Whernside, Yorkshire's highest point.
