About

The Swastika Stone is a carved rock thought to date from the Neolithic or early Bronze Age, with four curved arms each holding a cup mark. It is the only carving of its kind known in Britain and sits inside a small railed enclosure beside the moor-edge path, with a clearer replica next to the weathered original. It is an easy walk along the edge of the moor from Hebers Ghyll, with lovely views over Wharfedale.
