About
Tewit Well was the first mineral spring found in Harrogate, discovered by William Slingsby in 1571 and named after a local word for the lapwing. The little domed cover of 1807 once stood at the Royal Pump Room and was moved here in 1842. It sits on Cherry Tree Walk on The Stray, so it is easy to add to a stroll in the park.
