About

Wakefield Cathedral, the Cathedral Church of All Saints, was originally the town's parish church and has Anglo-Saxon origins. Its 75-metre spire is the tallest in Yorkshire, and peregrine falcons have nested on the cathedral since 2015.

Inside, look out for the stained glass by Charles Kempe, the octagonal font from 1661 and the carved misericords in the quire. There is also a 700-year-old angel marking above the rood screen. Free drop-in guided tours run on set dates.
