About

Wombwell Wood is an ancient woodland between Hoyland and Wombwell, with a footprint recorded since at least the Domesday survey. Winding paths lead through broadleaved trees and open spaces with views over Wombwell, and it is a good spot for bluebells and birds such as woodpeckers and kestrels. Dogs are welcome.
