About

This little chapel sits on the medieval Chantry Bridge and is thought to be the oldest and most ornate surviving bridge chapel in England, licensed in 1356. Over the years it has been a warehouse, a library and even a cheese shop. You can see it any time from the riverside and old bridge, and volunteers open the inside free on selected open days.
