About
Nabs Wood is a small Woodland Trust wood of oak, ash, sycamore and beech, carpeted with bluebells and wild garlic in spring. It was once a mining area and is the site of the Huskar Pit disaster of 1838, and a memorial to the children who died stands in the wood. It makes a short, thoughtful walk and pairs well with nearby Silkstone village.
