About

Sheffield Cathedral is the oldest building in the city still in daily use, with Christian worship on the site going back over 1,000 years. The earliest parts date from around 1200 and the newest were finished in 1966, giving an unusual mix of medieval and modern architecture. It became a cathedral in 1914 and is Grade I listed.

Inside there is a heritage interpretation centre telling the story of the cathedral and Sheffield. Look out for the Shrewsbury Chapel and the Window of the Sheffield Worthies.
