About
Bentley Community Woodland was created on the old Bentley Colliery site after the pit closed in 1993. There are about three miles of trails, a wetland designed by local children that attracts wildfowl, and a sculpture on the hilltop with views over Toll Bar and Bentley. Main paths are wide and surfaced with crushed stone, with narrower unsurfaced trails through the trees.
